From the Acting Principal's Desk

Dear Parents, Staff and Students

Last Monday, Mrs Brumley and her tireless helpers staged a wonderful whole school Music Concert themed ‘Caring for Our World’ as part of The Arts curriculum for the year. We thank our audience, including Fr. Hilary, parents, grandparents and friends who enjoyed the event. We also thank Mrs Brumley for completing her term contract at St Clare’s. She is now enjoying a well-deserved overseas holiday and we wish her the very best.

Work Experience

This week we will welcome three high school students to our school for work experience. They will be working in Prep, Year 1 and with Mrs Jenkins (HPE) for their work experience. Please welcome Kate, Lola and Ben.

Montefalco Landscaping Project

We thank Martin Metcalfe for the time and effort he put into beautifying the riverbank near our Montefalco Centre. I have received many comments from students, staff and parents expressing their delight at the beautiful landscape now revealed.

P & F Meeting

Our next P & F meeting is in the first week back in Term 3 – Monday, 15th July in the boardroom at 7pm. All are welcome.

Read To Me Day

Last Tuesday, our students in Prep to Year 3 enjoyed the annual 'Read to Me Day'. It was a beautiful sunny day with our students enjoying the experience of being read to by our supportive local businesses in Tully. This year’s theme was ‘We Are Australian’ with many of our students and teaching staff taking up the option to dress up. Thank you to parents who helped with supervision for the day as well as the many businesses who participated and provided a great learning opportunity for our students.

Catholic Education Week
28 July – 3 August 2019

Catholic.JPG

Catholic Education Week will be celebrated across Queensland from 28 July – 3 August 2019.

This annual event is held to promote the special ethos of Catholic schools and to highlight the great things that take place in Catholic schools every day.

The theme for this year’s celebrations is:  Many Voices. One Spirit.

Catholic education strives to make a difference in the lives of those in our schools and in the wider community by challenging young people to live out the message of Jesus and to reach their full potential as compassionate, contributing, life-giving members of society.

There are 306 Catholic schools in Queensland that educate around 149,000 students and employ more than 20,000 teachers and staff, and most will celebrate Catholic Education Week in some way.

Our school is planning a number of activities during the week and we hope you are able to join in the celebrations with us. Information about Catholic Education Week activities will follow early in Term 3.

I thank you for your ongoing support and look forward to seeing you during Catholic Education Week 2019.

Thank you all for your support throughout our school community this term. We wish everyone a blessed, safe and enjoyable school break and look forward to seeing you all on Monday, 15th July to commence another term filled with many enjoyable learning opportunities.

May the Grace of God be with you.
