Last week the Children’s Book Council
of Australia announced this year’s winners
in the following categories from outstanding
shortlisted books for 2023.

Early Childhood Book of the Year:
Runt  Author: Craig Silvey

 Younger Readers Book of the Year:
Where the Lyrebird Lives  Author: Vikki Conley

Picture Book of the Year:
My Strange Shrinking Parents  Author:  Zeno Sworder

Eve Pownall Information Book of the Year:
Deep  Author: Jess McGeachin

Crichton Award for New Illustrators:
Tiny Wonders  Author: Sally Soweol Han

titles and many other titles which were announced as honours and
Shortlisted books of the year.
