From The Principal's Desk
Dear St. Clare’s Community,
Welcome to Week 6 and the halfway point of Term 2!
I hope you got to enjoy some of the sunshine over the past weekend. After such a lot of rainy days it is certainly a welcome sight. St. Clare’s students have shown such a great deal of fortitude while having so many days that they have been unable to run around during play breaks. We must commend our students on sharing the undercover spaces so very well during the long period of rain.
Congratulations to all students who have taken part in the Sacramental Program over the past months. A huge thank you to Sharon Chappel for leading the students through their Sacramental journey. Our students are very blessed to have such a passionate and compassionate mentor. Also, a big thank you to Janine Burns who has assisted Sharon with the program and readying our students. And of course to Fr. Joby and parents for supporting such a lovely group of young people during this important time.
Thanks so very much to all the families that supported our annual pie drive. 914 delicious pies were delivered - being a record. We need to sincerely thank Marie Vipiana for putting in the time to collect and organise orders. And of course Bryn and April, from Tully Bakery, we could not do this without their support.
Sports Contact
Some of you will have already met Jeb Ryan, who joined us last term in the position of Health & Physical Education teacher. Jeb is very quickly getting to know our wonderful students and doing a great job coordinating all things sport.
If you have any sport related questions, or would like to send through photos of your children participating in sports trials, representative sport, etc. please use our St. Clare’s Sports email: sct.sports@cns.catholic.edu.au
2024 Feedback Surveys
Yesterday you would have received an email inviting you to take part in the 2024 Feedback Survey. This survey allows schools to gather important and useful information to inform future planning. We estimate that the survey will take 20 - 30 minutes to complete. All survey are anonymous. Your feedback is appreciated and I encourage you to take part in this survey.
School Jumpers
With some slightly cooler weather, we are seeing more jumpers making an appearance at school. Can you please ensure that your child's name is clearly marked on their school jumper. We always seem to end up with a huge pile in lost property at the end of each year. A reminder that school jumpers must be all over plain navy blue with no branding or images.
Free Dress Day
This term we have the first game of the State of Origin Series and Queensland Day falling a day apart. We have decided to celebrate both on Wednesday 5th June. Students can choose to wear either their State of Origin colours or dress in tropical colours. Please remember all clothing needs to be sunsmart and practical for a day at school, closed in shoes must also be worn.
I have had so many visitors since our last Newsletter. I have seen coding in action with Lego, super work in Maths, amazing examples of writing, and I have even had a live rap song demonstration. Well done and thank you to all those students that have come up to show me what they have been working on - I am so very proud of you all!

Blessings for the weeks ahead
