Faith Knowledge Community Respect
We are looking forward to celebrating Father’s Day with many of our dads at St Clare’s this Thursday from 1.30pm. We will have plenty of snags on bread for everyone for afternoon tea and a can of softdrink for our dads (sorry, students will have to stick with their water bottles). There are plenty of activities on offer for dads to move around the school, enjoying time with their children. The afternoon will wrap up around 2.40pm so if any parents are planning to take their children at this time, please ensure their classroom teachers are aware.
National Child Protection Week falls in Week 9 of this term. This year’s message is ‘Every child in every community needs a fair go’. At St Clare’s, we are committed to safeguarding our children. This year, each class will participate in Australia's Biggest Child Safety Lesson, with the focus on enthusiastic consent. This program is facilitated by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and you can find a wealth of resources and copies of previous year’s safety lessons here.
The Professional Standards and Safeguarding Office are also offering a number of webinars produced by the acclaimed author, educator, parenting and resilience specialist, Maggie Dent. These screenings are generally only available to paying members, but the PSSO have offered a limited number of licences to schools.
