Next term, the St Gerard committee will celebrate its 70th year of hosting the feast day for St Gerard. This is set to be quite a popular local event and as preparations for the mass begin, we are seeking a choir of children. This will be held on the afternoon (time TBC) of Saturday October 19. If your child is interested and available to be a part of the choir, please contact me by the end of term. We will hold practices after the holidays.
Thank you to those who were able to attend our recent Father’s Day Afternoon. It was lovely to see so many dads and grandads able to attend. Next term will see us celebrate Grandparents’ Day. If your child has grandparents who are able to attend, please ask them to keep the morning of Friday October 25 free. This will actually be a HUGE day at St Clare’s, where we will wear red (for Day for Daniel), with crazy socks (for Socktober) and celebrate Grandparents’ Day, Staff Appreciation Day, and end the day with a bang with our annual Mini Fete. More information around these events will be sent out in Term 4.
Mental Health Week in Queensland is acknowledged during October 5-13 this year. Our school counsellor, Sharon Scouller, and I will be working with some of our Year 5 and 6 students on some activities for the students during this week. Please note that on Friday October 13, students are invited to wear green in support of Mental Health Week.
I hope all of our families enjoy some time together over the holidays and I look forward to seeing everyone back again for the final term of the year.
With Blessings,
Term 3 Assemblies
