Sports News

Touch Football

St Clare’s convened the District Touch Gala Day at the end of last term, and what a great day of sport it was! A special thank you must go to Tully State High School for the use of their fields and for allowing their students (who did a fabulous job) to assist with refereeing all day.

Thank you to the many amazing helpers in our school community who assisted Mrs Jenkins with field set up and organisation of the day, and Mrs Vipiana with baking or helping out in the canteen and of course, our parents who transport and manage teams for our students on the day.

We had 3 superstars who were recognised by referees for their outstanding conduct all day. Well done Andre Russell, Evie Parkes & Stanley Fraser.

Congratulations to our students who were selected in the Southern Zone Cassowary Coast team: Madison Clifford, Quinn Waters, Shiloh Spencer, Evie Parkes, Kace Hodgson, Noah La Fauci, Nate Silvestro, Kade Murphy, Eddie Brunello, Warrick Grimaz, and shadows Billy Johnston,Tarique Noonan & Billy Morris.

Cross Country

A number of students will be heading to Warrina Lakes this Friday to compete in the Cassowary Coast trial for Cross Country. Thank you to those who are assisting with transport to and from the event.

Soccer

There will be a Soccer Gala Day held in Innisfail on Friday May 16, which will also serve as an opportunity for Cassowary Coast selections. St Clare’s will be fielding a team on this day. Students who are aged 10-12 years, with recent soccer experience, are eligible to attend. A Parent Slip will be sent out to eligible players at the end of this week. Please let me know if you have any queries.
