From The Principal's Desk

Dear St. Clare’s Community,

Week 8 already and that means Wellbeing Week, so no written homework for students this week!

On Thursday we have a team travelling to Cairns to participate in the Readers Cup. Evie, Addisyn, Henry & CC have been spending a lot of time immersing themselves into this year's book selection and we wish them all the best for Thursday. A huge thank you to Mrs Jenkins for preparing these students and organising our team.

The installation of the new fort structure in the Prep playground is finally underway. The main structure is in place. We are now waiting for special sand to be delivered and the curbing to be installed. It then needs to be inspected and signed off by an external inspector. We are hoping our Prep and Year 1 students will get to check it out very soon. A huge thank you to the P&F for very generously approving the funds for this upgrade.

Unfortunately, we recently had a break in at school. The good news is that very little damage was done and it seems nothing was stolen. The matter was reported to police, police attended the school and the matter is now in their hands. While this is a very rare event, it is a timely reminder to ensure we are all doing our part. If you should see any unauthorised people, particularly during the school holidays, please report to School Watch - 131 788. Members of the public are not permitted on school grounds outside of school hours.

Next week is all things Athletics! Let’s hope the sun stays out and dries things out a bit for us. Monday 16th is our first day, followed by the second day on Thursday 19th. An outline of the Carnival has been attached to this newsletter.

A reminder that any photos taken by parents & carers, at school events, such as Assembly, Sports Days and Free Dress, can only include your own children. Do not share/post any photos that contain students other than your own.

Sent to the Principal’s Office

Over the last two weeks I have been fortunate enough to have a few visitors to my office to show off some of the hard work happening at St. Clare’s. I am constantly blown away by the effort students and their teachers put into their learning. Well done everyone, you are truly the Heart of St. Clare’s and each visit makes my day so very special.
