T20 Blast Cricket – Cassowary Coast South
Year 5 and 6 students had a blast at the T20 Blast Cricket on Wednesday 18th September at the Kim Carrol Soccer Fields/Mick Miller Cricket grounds. Our four teams played excellent cricket with our boys placing fifth in a very competitive draw, our mixed team placing third and our two girls teams placing second and third.
We are very grateful to all the parents who provided transport to the event and to Mrs Durighello and Mrs Kerr for spending the day with us to manage teams.
We also thank Mr Cattarossi and the Tully Cricket Club for hosting such a fantastic day of sport for the children of our district.

Mary Mills Catholic Schools’ Netball Carnival
Two teams of Year 5 and 6 students played at the Mary Mills Catholic Schools' Netball Carnival in Cairns on Friday 20th September.
We were very proud of all the girls' efforts and sportsmanship. Our Year 6 team took three wins in the 'Competitive Pool' and our Year 5 team made it to the grand final in the 'Challenge Pool' going down 4-2 to Holy Cross to make them the runners' up!
We are very appreciative for all the parent support we had yesterday scoring, transporting and cheering the girls.
We also thank the staff of SGM for organising an excellent carnival.

Jim Graham Catholic Schools’ Rugby League Cup
Chace Crema, Dean Giardina, Hamish Gilbert, Jared Nash and Peter Solien joined with St. John's to create a rugby league team for the Jim Graham Cup yesterday at Jones Park, Cairns. The boys were very competitive resulting in two draws and two wins for the day, just short of the grand final.
We thank Mr Stuart Russel for training and coaching the boys along with Nick & Julie Giardina for assisting. We also thank TSS for a great lead-up match!

Our swimming carnival is scheduled for Friday 29th November.
We have attained a sporting schools grant allowing us to meet all staffing and supervision requirements to run a quality swimming program. Additional parental assistance and involvement is always welcome and appreciated. It is preferred that parents are available to commit to the same time-slot each week for consistency.
Each week, children will be required to have appropriate swimwear, a rashie/sunshirt, towel, goggles, their hat, sunscreen (applied beforehand), thongs and a swimming bag. Please make sure all items are clearly labelled.
Please email cjenkins@cns.catholic.edu.au if you are interested in assisting or if you have any concerns.
