From the Principals' Desk
St Clare’s Cross Country
We will advise all parents on Thursday if our plans for the cross country this Friday change. We do have a wet week forecast ahead of us and safety of our students is our priority. Keep praying for some sun later this week!
New reading books for students
We have recently purchased new home readers for students through the generous support of our P & F. Our library is overflowing with new books in need of being covered. If you can assist either in the library or by taking some home, please see Vera Borgna in the library this week. The sooner the books are processed the sooner students get to enjoy using them!
This year, our term concludes two weeks before Easter. We are aware that sometimes classmates bring in treats for their friends and students will be asked to take these home and enjoy them on Easter Sunday. We respect the holy days leading up to Easter and recommend holding off on eating the treats until then.
During the holidays we will remember the key events leading up to our great Easter celebrations. Palm (or Passion) Sunday is when Jesus arrived to a hero’s welcome into Jerusalem. In a matter of days he was having his Last Supper with his disciples before praying in the garden, being betrayed by Judas. Jesus was then arrested, had his friendship denied by Peter and then sentenced to be crucified. On the last weekend of our school holidays we will celebrate Christ’s resurrection – possibly the most important tradition in the Church’s calendar. I encourage you to take your families to the Easter rituals in St Clare’s Parish. I pray for all families that the peace of the Risen Lord may bring you renewed strength for the challenges that life may bring. Knowing the Risen Lord walks with us should give us confidence to trust in Him.
We look forward to celebrating with our school community at the commencement of term two. Please join us for our Easter Mass on Wednesday April 24th.
Wishing all staff, students and families a happy and holy Easter break. Enjoy your special family time and stay safe.
