From The Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Carers,

Over the past few weeks, with the return of our Prep and Year 1 students firstly and then our Yrs 2-6 students we have much to reflect on.

Since last Thursday staff and students in Yrs 2-6 have been spending quality time together as a class family, re-establishing connections, friendships, routines and purpose. For some of our children it is an adjustment spending their day with other students again and sharing the attention of one or two adults. Staff will carefully monitor all students and keep an eye out for those needing a little extra support. Please contact your class teacher if you have concerns about your child.

Equally as important, is our connection with you at home too, as the adjustment from home learning and having your children around comes with a mixture of emotions.  For some, relief and excitement for peace and quiet once more, for others a sense of sadness for a time never imagined but one perhaps longed for in time. The support you have given your own children in learning and to our school community is greatly respected. Thank you!

Nature Playground

The sun is out so that means we can seriously get into building our nature playground. Shane Gee and his team have made a great start with our tyre mound. Thank you to Tully Tyres for donating the used tyres for our playground and to the Johnston and Jenkins families for organising our big pile of rocks.  We can’t wait to see how the area develops over coming weeks.

Staffing Update

Kaitlyn Marsilio and Temara Guiliany are both on maternity leave for the remainder of the year and we await news of baby arrivals before the end of term for both of them. We welcomed Mrs Rosemarie Pensini as part time Yr 4 teacher at the start of the term (Right in the middle of online delivery).  We also welcome Stephanie Grimaz as a School Learning Officer supporting our teachers and students. Welcome Rosemarie and Stephanie!

A reminder of Guidelines as per our COVID19 Plan:

  • Prep / Yr 1 and siblings will be picked up at 2:50pm each day (for remainder of term). All other students will be picked up at 3pm.
  • Parents are not permitted in classrooms and should only be on the school grounds by appointment. Please contact teachers via email, Seesaw or phone. This is necessary to limit cross contamination among adults.
  • In the morning when dropping off, please use Stop, Drop and Go. Prep parents may walk their children to the Prep door through the carpark gate and say goodbye.
  • In the afternoon, for front of school pickup, adults please practise social distancing, collect your child/children and depart promptly.
  • No whole school assemblies will take place this term.

Best wishes for the week ahead,

Narelle Harney
