Book Week Parade News
Last week St Clare's joined in national Book Week celebrations. Book Week is an initiative of the Children's Book Council of Australia that celebrates books and Australian children's authors and illustrators.
Our students enjoyed working through a range of exciting activities that promote quality literature for young Australians and foster a love of reading. These activities focused on curious creatures in picture books, mythical creatures in indigenous dreamtime stories, and mythical creatures in Australian folklore.
The highlight of the week was the Curious Creatures Book Character Parade held on Tuesday. Our school was taken over that day by many, many awesome curious creatures with wild minds. Our students looked amazing, and there was a real buzz of excitement in the air!
Congratulations to all of our students and parents for showing such creativity with their wonderful costumes and enthusiasm to participate in book week activities!
