Celebrating National Reconciliation Week: 27th May to 3rd June
Let us pray…
Father of all, you gave our Indigenous People the Dreaming.
You also revealed your love in the person of Jesus.
In the spirit of the land, be their hope.
Help us all to face the pain of their past, to hear and respect their culture.
May your love grow strong in all Australians hearts so that you can be at home in each one of us.
We ask our prayer in the name of Jesus,
Amen.

2019 Sacramental Program
Congratulations to all the candidates who made their reconciliation last weekend and were presented with their Cross. Thank you to Tania Gilbert who prepared the candidates and to parents who supported their children in preparation for this sacrament.
Confirmation and First Eucharist Preparation Day for Tully candidates will take place on Sunday, 18th August. It will start with the 9am Mass where they will each be presented with the Creed and Lord’s Prayer. Sacramental Preparation will then follow with the day finishing at 3:30pm.
John Burland Concert – Thursday, 30th May
John Burland is an Educator and Composer who has been writing and recording religious music for children and adults for over twenty years. During this time John has written over 200 songs and released 14 music collections. John presents a highly interactive Celebration with a strong Religious Education focus, incorporating Song, Movement, Meditative Prayer and Story. This joyful celebration of our Catholic Faith is suitable for the whole School Community and is a unique opportunity to experience new music and ideas that support children’s catechesis and evangelisation.
We invite families and friends to join us in celebrating this wonderful opportunity in our school hall at 8:50am this Thursday, 30th May.

SAFETY
Important message for parents about parking in school zones
An important reminder to parents about our 2 MINUTE ONLY Stop Drop Go Loading Zone at the front of our schools.
Parents need to be aware that the 2 minute only zone is from 7:30am – 9:30am and again from 2pm – 4pm.
You are allowed only 2 MINUTES to drop off or collect your child during these times. Parking in this area longer than 2 minutes causes undue traffic congestion and makes it an unsafe area for your child and other children at our school.
School does not finish until 3pm. There is no point parking in this area prior to 3pm as you will be breaching the 2 MINUTE zone compliance.
Cassowary Coast Road Policing Unit (Traffic Branch) Officers will patrol our school and issue traffic infringement notices to offending vehicles either in person or by post.
- It’s an offence. You can be issued with a traffic infringement notice with a $40 penalty.
- You are not permitted to park your vehicle in this zone longer than 2 minutes.
- You are not permitted to leave your vehicle and enter the school to collect your child.
Parking is available if you wish to walk into school to collect your child.
We want all our children to be safe and by using this collection zone properly we can certainly help to ensure your child remains safe as well. In the event you are confused about Queensland Road Rules go to http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/Safety/Queensland-Road-Rules/Road-rules-refresher.aspx
When everyone does the right thing, the majority of the school can use this area safely, traffic will flow freely and drivers won’t become impatient and distracted.
Our priority is safety so don’t be surprised when traffic infringement notices are posted out should breaches happen.
Should you have further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact the Tully Police Station on 4068 4000 and thank you for helping with this safety issue.

Fete Update:
Hello, as you are all aware the St Clare’s Fete is on Saturday the 7th September and this year’s theme is, Let’s Get Physical.
From now until the fete we are hoping to have an update in our fortnightly newsletter of what is happening and the progress, after all this event is for OUR children who attend our lovely school.
Last Friday fete packs were sent home with the eldest child in the family. We have had a great response so far to helping which is awesome and we thank you. Please send in your notes or please let myself, Kylie, Jane, Alice or Cheryl know if you can help. You only have to be on a stall for an hour, we also need help before the fete and to clean up the day after. Our fete is the only one that still happens in our area annually and we fundraise a large amount of money that benefits our school in the form of being able to purchase resources, new technology and sporting equipment.
Class hampers are in your child’s classroom, we ask that each family brings in something relating to your child’s grade category eg Prep - Laundry.
Raffle tickets were attached to the pack, we thank our sponsors, E.E Muir & Sons, Meat at Phils, Reeds Electrical, Cav’s Marine, Mitre 10 Tully, Blair’s Mufflers & Aluminium, Wonder Fair Amusements and St Clare’s School. Please return all sold tickets to the school office as soon as possible. If you require more tickets we have spare at the office.
Any questions please let us know. Kylie, Alice, Cheryl, Jane and Marie.
Pie Drive forms will be handed out next week, more information will be attached to the order forms.
