Dear St. Clare’s Community,
Welcome to Week 6! This marks the halfway point of the term, with 5 weeks to go. Term 4 is always so very busy and exciting, jam packed with events and some fun! We have been extremely fortunate to have a number of events already, such as Day for Daniel, Crazy Sock Day, Mini Fete, Bookfair, an Author visit, All Saints Mass and the Melbourne Cup Hat Parade to name just a few. It is wonderful to see students and staff connecting on these special occasions, this sense of community is part of what makes St. Clare’s such a special place. We will have a few more of these opportunities to gather on the horizon, with the swimming carnival and concert and end of year BBQ ahead.
Thank you to Adam and Fran from Livelife Pharmacy for their very generous donation. We have used it to purchase some giant outdoor games to be used during playtime. We look forward to the arrival of Jenga, Battleships and Scrabble.
School Fees
Thank you to all families who have made their school fee payment. Please ensure that fees are finalised prior to the end of the term. If you wish to discuss outstanding fees, please contact the office to make an appointment.
For those who pay their fees by direct debit or Bpay we appreciate if payments continue over the holidays to ensure there will be no outstanding fees starting 2025.
Enrolments 2025
While we do not like to see our families leave St. Clare's, we understand that circumstances change and families can relocate and move away. We currently have families on waiting lists across year levels. If your child will not be returning to St. Clare's in 2025, please contact the office as soon as possible.
P&F Annual General Meeting
The AGM will be held at the Leagues Club on Monday 25th November at 5:30pm. The invitation to attend is open to all parents.
Sent to the Principal’s Office
We have had another couple of weeks with students showing extra effort in class with their learning! There is always great work going on at St. Clare’s and the smiles on their faces say it all - we love learning here and our teachers and school officers go over and above to give students fantastic learning experiences.
Just a reminder that the Swimming Carnival will be in Week 8, Friday 22nd November. Tuckshop in Week 8 will be on Thursday - orders can be placed through Flexischools as usual.
Best wishes for the week ahead,
Karran Burzacott
Faith Knowledge Community Respect
Our annual Mini Fete was once again a huge success. Thank you to Mrs Marsilio, Mrs Jenkins, Mrs Sollitt and our Year 6 superstars who put in so much time and preparation to make this thoroughly enjoyable event happen. At the final count, we have raised a whopping $1 820 for Catholic Mission. What an amazing achievement for our little school!
St Clare’s is once again supporting the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal. We are asking children to bring in non-perishable, long lasting items that will be put towards making up hampers for less fortunate people in our community. Each class has been asked to bring in specific items up until the end of term. This is an opportunity to teach our children about the gift of giving and all donations are greatly appreciated.

EMOTIONAL LITERACY
Did you know …
- There are 27 main human emotions.
- We experience at least 1 emotion 90% of the time.
- And frequently experience positive & negative emotions at the same time.
If you’re interested in learning more about Emotional Literacy check out ‘The Imperfects podcast’. In the below episode Dr Emily talks about the concept of Emotional Awareness, and explains why it’s not only important to identify your unpleasant emotions, but why it's even more important to express them when they arise.
Dr Emily - you are Not Your Emotions
Below is a link to more of ‘The Imperfects’ podcast episodes on The Resilience Project website or you can listen wherever you listen to your podcasts.
Kind regards,

On Sunday, Eddie and Layla attended the Peninsula trials in Cairns for Aquathlon. Both students were successful in being selected for the team and will now travel to Hervey Bay at the beginning of 2025.

Below is some information and a RSVP for our annual End of Year BBQ, this note was also handed out to the eldest in the family by the classroom teacher today.
WEDNESDAY 4TH DECEMBER 2024
Our end of year BBQ is on Wednesday 4th December commencing at 5.00pm, then followed by a school concert. We would love to see as many families as possible come and join us for dinner to celebrate the end of the 2024 school year.
We do need help the morning of the BBQ, with food preparation straight after parade this will probably take 2 hours and at night serving food and dessert. If you are able to assist, could you please fill in the note below and return it by Friday 22nd November and a roster will be in the week 8 newsletter Tuesday 19th November, along with the menu and price list of food available on the night. Those dads who can help on the BBQ it would be great if they can be at the school by 4.30pm to get the cooking started.
For dessert, if each family can bring a plate of something to share. It can be whatever you like eg. Fruit, cupcakes, slice, biscuits. We ask that you put your goodies on a disposable dish or please label your containers.
Your help is greatly appreciated any questions please let me know
Thanks Renee

It seems very early to be discussing enrolments for 2026 BUT if you have a child born between 1/7/2020 and 30/6/2021, your child is eligible to start Prep in 2026. Please go to our website to complete an online enrolment - https://www.stclares.qld.edu.au/enrolling/enrolment-application/. We already have a number of students registered for 2026 and do not want to see any of our existing families miss out.
