Dear Parents and Carers,
We look forward to our swimming carnival this Friday. Thank you to all parents assisting on Friday with carnival jobs. Your assistance allows our day to run smoothly so that our students have a wonderful carnival. I would also like to acknowledge in advance the planning and preparation of our upcoming carnival by Stuart Russell. Thank you Stuart!
Please ensure students apply sunscreen before coming to school and have some in their bags to reapply. All students need to bring their own food and water bottles for the day (maybe more than one water bottle).
Just a reminder that we have a limit of 80 spectators and are asking that only adults supporting 5-7 year olds are in attendance from 9-10:15am. Remember to bring your own chair.

Students who were selected in Peninsula teams will receive certificates that normally would be presented at the local Ulysses Sporting Awards night. We will also formally farewell staff who will be leaving us at the end of the school year.
Parents of students in Yrs 5 and 6 are most welcome to join us for our final assembly for 2020. Parents of families leaving at the end of this year are also welcome to attend and parents of students receiving the Character Award will be contacted this week to attend. If both parents are unable to attend then a grandparent/older sibling may attend in their place (only 2 adults per family). Due to spacing restrictions we can only cater for the identified groups of adults to attend. All families need to have spacing between them and the next family to adhere to COVID requirements. Everyone will also be required to sign in.
Semester Two Report Cards
On Thursday, Dec 3, all students’ report cards reflecting their second semester work will be available on the Parent Portal by 4pm. I trust this is an accurate appraisal of your children’s work and I thank the teachers for their commitment in preparing the reports. Now is the time to check your access to the parent portal.
If you need assistance accessing the parent portal please contact Chris Edwards via cedwards@cns.catholic.edu.au to organise a time to meet. Links can be found on both our school website and through the skoolbag app. It is suggested that you save your children’s reports in your personal files for future use.
We thank and are grateful for the work that the staff leaving St Clare’s have done in their time here. We ask our Lord to continue to bless them in their work. Staff leaving St Clare’s at the end of 2020 are: Kath Kennedy (APRE), Jenny Crema, Tina Metcalfe, Paula Brumley, Rosemarie Pensini, and Lydia Valeriano. End of Year LIturgy Friday Dec 4
We will be having a liturgy on Friday at 11:15am in the Montefalco Centre. From here we will process together out to the grass area near the church to countdown our end of year dismissal. We will have the silver seats available for parents who wish to join us for the liturgy (sign in and spacing requirements will be in place). Alternatively, parents may wish to meet us on the grass around 11:45am. Students who do not have parents here at 12pm will be taken to the admin verandah for collection via stop drop and go.
The school year has almost come to a close and we have much for which to be thankful. On behalf of the staff I wish to thank all the parents for your support throughout 2020. It has been an extraordinary year that we will always remember and be thankful for our blessings to live in an area that has been protected from COVID. Thank you to all staff and families for the understanding and support that has been shown this year with our constant changes and limitations.
Enjoy your special family gatherings over the holiday period.
May God’s grace be with you and yours during the holiday period.

First Sunday of Advent
This Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent. As Christians we prepare in a spiritual way for a special event of celebration – The birth of Jesus Christ. Advent is a time when everyone is waiting for God’s messenger and to celebrate the good feast of his arrival: Christmas. Advent is a time when Christians prepare the earth for God’s son by spreading peace, forgiveness and joy.
A Christmas Blessing
God grant you the light of Christmas,
Which is faith;
The warmth of Christmas,
Which is purity;
The righteousness of Christmas,
Which is justice;
The belief in Christmas,
Which is truth;
The all of Christmas,
Which is Christ…..

We raised approximately $1500 which will be sent to Catholic Missions and The Children’s Hospital Foundation. A huge thank you to all of our St. Clare’s families for their generous donations for the fete and also for sending in spending money with their students. Also thank you to the P & F for their kind donation of $200 worth of prizes and materials to be used on the day. The students had an amazing day!
