Dear St. Clare’s Community,
This weekend was all about taking time to honour the special women in our lives who have loved and nurtured us unconditionally. We recognise the incredible impact they have had on our lives. The support, guidance, and endless amounts of love we get and give to them in return. Happy Mother's Day! For all our mums and those we hold dear, I hope you had a lovely Mother's Day on Sunday.
Sent to the Principal's Office
Once again it is great to see students excited about their learning. Hats off to all our staff that continuously strive to engage students, and to all the students of St. Clare’s that work hard to do their best. You are amazing!
Blessing for the weeks ahead,
Karran Burzacott

Conversation About Catholics
Last week, Anne McLean and Sr Alice Sullivan visited St Clare’s to discuss a program that they have developed called Conversations About Catholics. The program centres around supporting families in our parish to gain a better understanding of what being Catholic entails. It offers education around Catholic practices and rituals to help families feel more comfortable in participating in the religious life of the school and parish. If this is something of interest to you, please get in touch with me for more information.
Pope Leo XIV
Catholics around the world watched with much anticipation as our new Pope, Leo XIV, was elected last week. Pope Leo is an Augustinian Pope, and the first to be elected from North America. We look forward to him continuing the good work of his predecessor Pope Franicis.
Hello Parents, Students and Colleagues
FILLING YOUR OWN CUP
When it comes to self-care, it’s handy to think of the phrase "you can't pour from an empty cup".
What if, instead of running on empty, you could prioritise small, meaningful actions that help you relax, recharge and reenergise? Would you have more positive energy to pour back into your role as a parent?
Self-care doesn’t have to be a big thing that takes up too much of your time. Every little thing you do to look after yourself makes a difference in how you think, behave and react throughout parenting's ups and downs.
There’s no one-size fit all and what works for you, might not work for others. Just like parenting, you get to choose what sort of self-care works best for you and your family. You don’t need to get it right all the time. And you won’t. Because sometimes life will take over.
By practising self-care, you can model that same adaptability and positivity back to your children. They’re watching and learning from you. They’re picking up on how you communicate, solve problems and handle stress.
And if your cup is fuller, it’s a win-win for everyone.

Please go to our website to complete an online enrolment - https://www.stclares.qld.edu.au/enrolling/enrolment-application/.
We already have a number of students registered for 2026 & 2027 and do not want to see any of our existing families miss out.
Pie Drive orders close THIS FRIDAY 16th MAY AT 9AM. No late orders can be accepted as the system will cut off at 9am. We recommend getting all orders in the day before if possible.

2025 ST CLARE’S FETE
2025 Fete preparation is underway. This year’s fete will be held on Saturday 13th September. Our student performances will begin at 5pm and the fete fun will commence from 6pm till late. This year’s theme is “COUNTRY FAIR”.
Fete packs will be sent home this week with the eldest in the family. The pack includes lots of information, raffle tickets, stall roster and other important dates.
The fete is our major fundraiser and St Clare’s is the only school in the community that still has an annual fete, BUT for this year's fete to be as successful as previous years we need YOUR HELP. We are asking that one adult from each family volunteer either before the fete with cent sale wrapping, etc. or on the night, on a stall for an hour. As the saying goes, plenty of hands make light work. As parents we are all part of the P & F so any help you can give is greatly appreciated as the money raised goes back to helping our children in many different aspects of the school.
The fete is a fun night that is made possible by the Staff, parents and the community who donate so many wonderful prizes and of course our students, whose performances will be nothing short of amazing. Please let your family and friends know the date.
As the fete approaches, we will have updates in the newsletter and via Seesaw. If you need any further information, please contact one of the fete committee members: Alicia Johnston, Katrina Barratt, Tracy Dore, Emily Probitts, Tammy Clifford, Rhiannon Bilic, Tara Silvestro, Renee Jones and Marisa Wakefield
Thanks
Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing information around the topic of esafety. Online dangers are one of the biggest issues facing this generation of children and the esafety website has a bank of valuable resources for educators, parents and children aimed for Under 5s, up to 18 year olds. This site has been published by the Australian Government’s eSafety Commissioner. We encourage all of our families to familiarise themselves with this website and we will continue to share relevant information through our newsletter.
