FEEDBACK SURVEYS
This year's Feedback Surveys (previously known as Satisfaction Surveys) will be conducted during the first four weeks of Term 3.
All parents and staff are invited to take part in the survey, as well as all students in Years 5, 6, 8 and 11. You will receive an email with a link to the survey. We estimate that it will take around 30 minutes to complete.
The Feedback Surveys are an important tool in providing information and opinions - both positive and negative - which we can use to further develop and refine all aspects of our operations and offerings, at both the school and system levels. This process plays an important role in helping us gauge the wellbeing of our students, parents, and staff and to determine strategies to improve this. We are also required to report the results (in broad terms) in our annual reporting to the government.
The greater the number of participants, the greater the breadth of opinion we will be able to consider and analyse.
We look forward to receiving much useful data from the surveys and will report the broad results in due course.
This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard and I urge you to take advantage of this.
Our next P&F meeting is Wednesday 2nd August @ 5:30pm for anyone wishing to attend. We will meet in the staffroom.
Blessings for the week ahead

Faith Knowledge Community Respect
This Thursday at 2pm, we will acknowledge NAIDOC Week (which was held during the last school holidays). The whole school will attend a liturgy in the church, led by Fr Joby and we will then break off into buddy classes and engage in some NAIDOC based activities. This year’s theme is ‘For Our Elders’ and focuses on the important role and prominent place that Aboriginal elders hold in our communities.
Australia’s patron saint, Mary MacKillop, will be celebrated throughout our country on her feast day which falls on Tuesday August 8. Did you know?
- Mary was one of 8 children, born to Scottish immigrants.
- She supported her family from the age of 16 while she worked as a clerk, governess and teacher.
- At 24, with the support of Fr Julian Tenison-Woods, she opened St Joseph’s School in Penola, South Australia.
- The Sisters of St Joseph (Josephites) also began in 1966
- A year later, Mary took her vows and became a nun, Mary of the Cross
- She opened orphanages and homes to care for the homeless, both young and old.
- Mary spent most of her life caring for others and hoping to give people a fresh start in life.
May we continue to follow Mary's vision in creating a world where we care for those who are less privileged.

Internet Safety Tips for Parents, Teachers and Carers
- The use of computers, laptops or any internet enabled devices (iPad, phone, iPod, Xbox) SHOULD be in a common area of the house NOT IN THE BEDROOM! Need an alarm - buy a clock radio!
- Parental monitoring is vital - walk past and see what your child is doing, who they are talking to and what sites they are on…be aware if their mood changes. This is NOT invading their privacy at all…it is parenting in the digital space.
- Make sure there is no response to rude or harassing emails or messages and keep a record in case of further investigation.
- Advise your child to immediately exit any site that makes them feel uncomfortable or worried.
- If the harassment continues…. The current email account can be deleted and a new one started. The new email address should only be given to a selective few.
ICAS enrolments have now closed and assessments will start next week, so all those students that have already selected writing, maths, and/or spelling will be participating in these over the next few weeks. Best of luck to all participants.
Congratulations to the students that participated in the 3rd APSMO maths challenge last week. Everyone is making significant progress in their problem-solving and mathematical reasoning skill development. One more competition will be held later this term so keep up the great work.

FETE UPDATE 6:
Wow what a great response we had to the returning of raffle tickets last week. We still have 50 sheets outstanding, the only reason we are asking for sheets to be returned sold or unsold is that when we draw on the night if we have sheets missing it makes it difficult if we don’t have consecutive numbers in the system. We don’t except you to buy all $50 worth if you don’t wish too. We have had families purchase $10 or $20 worth and that’s totally fine. If you have lost your sheet can you please let Marie know on 0418 158 872 so we are not waiting for it to be returned.
100’s BOARDS: If you would like to buy any 100 board numbers you can let Marie know via messenger or 0418 158 872. Also I will have the boards at parade each Friday between now and the fete. We have a $2, $5, $10 and a $20 board. If you have purchased numbers and have not yet paid can you please do so.
CLASS HAMPERS: Please continue to send in hamper items if you haven’t already done. These items help make up our cent sale prizes.
X MAS STALL: Order forms are in todays newsletter for Xmas Baubles so get your orders in. The forms can be left at the office or given to your class teacher.
CHOCOLATE STALL: Thank you to those who brought in chocolates last week. The ladies in the stall are still chasing fun size bags of chocolates if you see these on special at Woolies or IGA please grab a few, these can be left in the bucket at the school office.
Any questions at all please let us know. Thanks
