Dear St Clare's Community,
With a well deserved break for staff and students just around the corner, it is hard to believe we are halfway through the 2023 school year.
We were extremely lucky to have been able to complete all events in the 2023 Athletics Carnival last week. I am so very proud of each and every student, the sportsmanship and effort on display was superb. Well done St. Clare’s students on making the Carnival very special. Thank you very much to all staff for doing the ‘extra’ to ensure we could cover all events in a very rainy week. Special mentions to Mrs Mason for organising the day and Mrs Vipiana and her crew for making sure we all got our delicious tuckshop. Thank you to all the parents that were able to attend, cheer, help out with events and move tents around - you are amazing!
The P&F are responsible for purchasing our fantastic new shade tents, they looked great on Thursday and we look forward to using them for many years to come. The P&F have also purchased some more large mats for students to sit on, unfortunately they did not arrive in time for this carnival. We have taken delivery, also courtesy of the P&F, of two chair trollies. These trollies are able to move ten chairs at a time, which will help enormously when we set up for events such as the fete. Thank you to all of our parents for all that you do to support students.
School Photos were sent home last week. Please let us know if you are yet to receive yours.
As you are aware we have been looking for a teacher in Year 3. I am very pleased to inform you that Mrs Amanda Baston has very generously agreed to take on additional days and will be teaching Year 3 Monday - Thursday. Mrs Paula Brumley will be in Year 3 on Fridays. Paula will also be doing some relief work and taking on The Arts when Mrs Jo Wall takes a period of leave in the second half of Term 3. Mrs Jess Lang will work in Year 5, Monday & Tuesday for the remainder of the school year. We are deeply grateful to everyone for their flexibility and support to ensure that minimal disruption to student learning occurs.
Attendance data to date - 80% of students have attended 90% (or more). This is an increase. Our goal is 90% of students attending 90% of the time. 16.1% of student absences are unexplained. The number of unexplained absences is decreasing. Our goal is 0 unexplained absences. While an increased number of parents are contacting the school to notify us of students absences, we still have a number of unexplained absences each week.
Wishing all staff, students and families a wonderful break - see you in Term 3.

Faith Knowledge Community Respect
As we edge closer to the end of term there are lots of moments to be thankful for in the religious life of our school. Some of our celebrated moments include our Mothers’ Day mass, Michael Mangan concert, Fr Joby’s birthday, welcoming Fr Kerry back to our parish for a short stay and working with the Year 4 children in the Sacramental Program. Next term is already shaping up to be just as busy with Catholic Education Week, NAIDOC celebrations and our patron saint’s feast day. I hope that everyone enjoys a well deserved rest over the holiday break and look forward to seeing what Term 3 has in store for us.
With Blessings
Sharon Chappel

Fete Update No. 4
This is our final fete update for this term. Term 3 is fete term so information and reminders will be coming out regularly through the Newsletter and Seesaw.
Roster: We would like to start Term 3 with a full roster of helpers for the fete as the committee have lots of other jobs to focus on before the big night. We still require roughly 12 helpers on stalls. An updated roster is attached to the newsletter. PLEASE let Marie know on 0418 158 872 if you can help.
Raffle Tickets: It would be great if most raffle tickets are returned by this Friday 23rd June. Thank you to those who have sold tickets and returned them so far.
Class Hampers: If you haven’t done so already, please send in something to your child’s class for the hampers. These items don’t have to be anything expensive just items we can use to help build our Cent Sale prizes. Attached to this newsletter is a reminder of what each class hamper is. Thank you to the Year 3 & Year 5 class whose hampers always have lots of donations.
Have a wonderful break and see you all in Term 3.
